First The Basics

Yellow

Yellow antifreeze is an Hybrid Organic Acid Technology (HOAT) that contains silicates for added aluminum protection and offers exceptional protection at high operating temperatures. Meets: ASTM D3306 Recommended for all makes and models of automobiles and light duty trucks.Service Life: 5 Years/150,000 Miles

Green

This is an older coolant (ethylene glycol) that uses Inorganic Additive Technology (IAT). Contains silicate and phosphate additives to prevent the rust and corrosion of automotive cooling system components including aluminum, copper, brass and cast iron. Service Life: 2 Years/50,000 Miles

Red

Typically Red Antifreeze is considered an extended life coolant or ELC that is propylene glycol based using Organic Acid Technology (OAT). It is silicate-free with the same metal wear protection as IAT antifreeze. Propylene glycol is less toxic, and safer for the environment.Service Life: 7 Years to Life/500,000-1,000,000 Miles

Controlled Atmosphere Brazing

Red Rust Textured Background

CAB or Controlled Atmosphere Brazing has been around since the 1980’s. With advancements in technology it is a process that is being used more than ever to mass manufacture radiators. This CAB process does not react well with the silicates and nitrites that are in most current coolants.
